SOLO EXHIBITION BY DE ZANETTI

Thursday 02 March 2017 PAINTING 5.30 pm – free admission

From figurative imagery to geometric abstraction, with references to surrealism and neoclassicism alike: painting as an experience of elsewhere, a fantastic, arcane terrain of figures and buildings, a place to take refuge, elevating at one moment, the narrative suggestiveness of colour and at the next, the bodily essentiality of the stroke. De Zanetti (Daniele Zanetti) was born in Brescia. Having specialised in artistic disciplines at upper-secondary school, he earned both an ordinary degree, then his Masters in Decoration at the city’s School of Fine Arts. A finalist in the 2009 edition of the Giovani artisti bresciani competition (“Young Brescian artists”), he held his first solo exhibition in the city the next year. This was followed by other solo and group exhibitions in Turin, Milan and Novara. In August 2015, he participated in the Future Memories exhibition held at the Ca’ Zanardi in Venice with a painted installation. He lives and works in Venice, to which he moved in 2000, and in Brescia.

Exhibition curated by Emanuele Horodniceanu

On display until 16 March.
